It is with extremely heavy hearts that we must discuss such a horrifically relentless disaster that is ravaging our beautiful country. For many, homes, livelihoods and even family have been harmed in some way by the devastatingly cataclysmic results of the ongoing bushfire disaster.

As Australia burns, our thoughts are with all of those affected by these conditions, to the firefighters, emergency services and volunteers who are risking their lives and working around the clock to protect our communities — we thank you.

Geelong air quality has been declared ‘very poor’ in recent weeks, and evidence of the fires has shrouded the city. We are proud of the community for stepping up, and have noticed a few local fundraisers donating 100 per cent of proceeds to the appeal.

We encourage our community to donate and help in any way possible, with some suggestive options for donations accessible via the below links.

  • If you’re local to the Gen Fyansford area, attend the Geelong Fires Up event, which is donating all proceeds to The Bushfires Disaster Appeal.
  • Make an online donation to The Victorian Bushfire Appeal ‘Community Enterprise Foundation‘ where 100% of donated funds will go directly to communities in need.
  • Red Cross Australia is supporting thousands of people in evacuation centres and recovery hubs across Australia.
  • The Salvation Army’s Disaster Appeal is providing catering to emergency workers throughout affected regions.
  • Wildlife Victoria is working tirelessly to help save wildlife and keep them from harm’s way.
  • To directly support the efforts of Victorian firefighters, you can donate to the state’s CFA here.
